14 Weeks!!

I am starting to get a belly... Either that or my craving for magnums is catching up with me...

I was made painfully aware of this fact when Hubby said "Hey honey, you're getting fat." I countered his extreme sensitivity with "Yes, I most certainly am, and it's the only time when I can get fat and you can't say anything.."

Anyway, I'm pretty proud of my little belly.. It's the firmest my tummy has ever been.. he he.. Hubby has been taking "Belly Photo's" so we can compare from week to week.. I'll post a couple of Belly Pics when I have completed the transition from "One too many magnums" to "Definately pregnant".

I've given up on the cheese craving, I had been eating alarming amounts of cheese.. I even made Sis drive out to Kenilworth from the Sunshine Coast so I could go to the cheese factory and stock up.. Things came to a bit of a head a couple of days ago when I decided that cheese might taste nice with chocolate fudge ice-cream... It did, although it could have done with some tomato sauce.. Anyway.. I'm going to stick to my fruit and vegie cravings.. :-)

Hmm.. What else is new?? Not a great deal really, Hubby has had another cold, and this time, he mamaged to give it to me.. Usually my immune system is pretty good, and if he gets a cold, I may have a sniffle for a couple of days, but escape pretty much unscathed... Not this time.....

I awoke this morning with a chainsaw carving around my throat when I try to swallow, and a head full of what feels suspiciously like cotton wool... The worst part is that while Hubby is wandering around in moments of Codrell Cold and Flu induced clarity.. I can't take anything (well, it's more that I don't want to).. Oh well, I'll be right!!

Have got my energy back so I am working heaps of overtime while I can. The job is going great and the construction team now consists of 2 people!! YAY!!

More news soon!!!

Here is a pic of all the scan photos.. Beanie was jumping around all over the place, kicking his/her feet off the walls and bouncing around. He/she was also waving his/her little arms and legs around!! It was so awesome to see!!

I guess I was still a bit still shaken up from the day before (either that or I am just dopey) and when I saw the bub jumping around and being so active, I asked the ultrasound guy "Is that my baby?" He looked at me with a big grin and said "No, it's one I prepared earlier" I laughed as I realised what a dumb question it was..

I just can't believe how much this baby is moving around!! What is even more incredible is that I don't feel it yet.. It seems so unreal that something is moving so much inside me and I don't feel it!!

Beanie is waving in this one!!

Scooter Shuffle

Well, it has finally happened.. I have been banned from riding the scooter to work.. Well, actually from riding it at all as it happens....

I knew it was going to happen, but I thought I would be coming home one day and saying "You know, it's just not comfortable riding that scooter anymore..."

Nope. It happened in the worst way imaginable..

OK, so I am riding home from work last Thursday afternoon, happily enjoying the fact that I managed to leave work almost on time, and that the weather is so much nicer this time of year than winter... Anyway, I'm in the middle lane of the roundabout and am indicating to turn off the roundabout (I am doing nothing wrong, I am in the correct lane to be going straight ahead, and I am indicating my intention to leave the roundabout).. As is my practice, I check to my left to make sure there is not a car in the lane next to me, looking like he's coming around..

You guessed it, there was a car in the lane next to me coming around... I mean, what kind of idiot turns right from the left hand lane of a roundabout??? Oh yes... THE LAWYER IN THE MID LIFE CRISIS SPORTSCAR WHO HIT ME!!!!

He hit me, I smacked his bonnet and rolled off the front before hitting the road. The scooter ended up a couple of metres from where I did.. I was lucky his bonnet took most of the impact, and by the time I hit the road, I was moving pretty slowly, physically, my only injuries are a good little graze on my knee, some skin off my elbow, a little internal bruising in my tummy and a few nice black ones on my legs (possibly where I kicked the bike away with my legs as I came off)...

Being Miss Independence, I got all the guys details and refused a lift home.. I started the scooter (Yeah, i was surprised it started too..) and rode home sobbing.. I don't know how I managed to balance, stick to the speed limit, be pissed off that someone had the gall to hit me, and cry like nothing else at the same time.. it must be a testament to my ability to multiskill..

I went to see my doctor on Friday for a bit of a checkup and he had a feel around my belly etc. and said that although he was pretty sure Beanie would be OK, he was going to send me for an ultrasound anyway..

So, the good news is that I have pictures of my Beanie!!! I will post all about the ultrasound, and the pictures tonight (am on lunchbreak at work at the moment so I don't have the pics with me)..

Would it help if I said I was sorry???

First of all, I have to apologise!! I have been a complete and utter slacker and haven't posted for something in the vacinity of 4 weeks.... Would you believe I am pregnant and tired?? No, didn't think so... I promise no more excuses, I will post much more regularly.
