Seeing The Funny Side

Saturday

Well, after such a huge day, we both backed up again on Saturday to head back up to Brissy. Me for a Breast Cancer Fundraiser breakfast at Wellington Point (which was wonderful by the way), and Hubby for a catchup with some fire-photo friends of his.

We got home around 4pm, and veged out with a couple of DVD's..

Sunday was another big day. Hubby headed back out to Ipswich and the train show, and got home around half past 9 last night. My day was AWESOME!!!

I started out with a yummy breaky at mum's place, then we made the big decision to head up to the new IKEA at Logan.. We tried to get into the car park (there are 2000 car spots) and were waved on by the policeman there (yeah, it was that chaotic).. Carpark was full. So we did a U-turn and came back to see that the policeman was now letting cars into the carpark. So, we did another U-turn and went back up. Only for the policeman to wave us past again.. Damn.

So, to cut a long parking story short, we ended up parking in a field about 3 or 4 kilometres from the IKEA, and catching the shuttle busses they had organised. The store is MASSIVE, absolutely massive!! I reckon the old store would fit into the new cafe area. It was really busy so we just walked around for a while, taking in all the cool stuff they had there, and I bought a few bits and pieces.. The bonus about having parked so far away from the store was that I couldn't buy too much.. Then we caught the bus back to the car and had a Yatala pie on the way home..

That's my idea of a great day! IKEA, Yatala Pie. :-)

Massively Huge Weekend!

Wow!! I am still recovering from what has been a massive weekend..

We had our 19 week ultrasound on Friday.. This is the one where they measure everything, count fingers (but apparently not toes as there are too many bones in the foot to get an accurate toe count), check the heart and brain, and they can also tell you if your Beanie is a Beanette or a Boybean.

Hubby and I had already decided that we didn't want to know the sex of our bub, so when the ultrasound lady asked us, Hubby said that we didn't want to know. She said she would tell us when to look away.. I wanted to look.. I don't think I like knowing that the ultrasound lady knows more about my baby than I do.. It's crazy!

Beanie is pretty shy, he/she kept moving away from the ultrasound thingee so it took us ages to get the pictures we wanted, but the good news is that Beanie is 100% healthy, everything normal, and in the place it should be. Strong heartbeat and movements, and measured 21cm from top of the head to his/her cute little bum (beanie has Hubby's bum for sure.. Mine is definately not that cute.. hehe).

They printed out some pictures for us, which I will scan into the computer tonight and post!

Then after the Ultrasound, we headed up to Ipswich with Hubby's lego to set up for the model train show that was on over the weekend. We got home pretty late and fell into bed utterly exhausted!
