NEW JOB!!!

I started my new job on Monday and so far it is awesome!!! The people there are all really lovely, and if I have a question (which is frequently) they are all happy to help!

I've been doing some pretty intensive training and my brain is pretty much full by the time I am ready to go home!

I started to really get into the job today, I processed a couple of settlements.. Yep.. I processed details and payments for settlement of peoples home loans.. It's something I never thought I could be doing!! I'll spend some time learning each of the different jobs before getting into my actual position, which is administering thr construction loans..

I'm so excited!!

Rain and Scooters Don't Work

Last Friday I drove my little scooter to Southport for it's first service..

Let me mention at this stage that it was raining heavily all the way...

I'd put off the service all last week because it had been raining and the weatherman said it was going to clear up.. Anyway, when I woke up on Friday morning, the first thing I heard was the sound sof rain on the tin roof of the neighbours house... Unfortunately there was no other option.. I needed to get it done that day as I was starting my new job on Monday and there wouldn't have been another opportunity for the service for some time..

Anyway, to cut a long story (and ride) short, I arrived in Southport with water literally running off me.. I staggered into the shop and dripped a puddle on their floor.. After phoning Hubby and asking him to come and get me (I was going to wait for the scooter and ride home), I rung out my socks and gloves and waited..

Basically the rest of the story is pretty uneventful, Sis and I went and got the scooter in the afternoon, and I made it home without getting too wet..

It did, however, take me three days to dry my jacket.......

Anniversaries....

Wow.. Hubby and I have been married for a year now.. A WHOLE YEAR!!!

To celebrate we headed up to Brissy for the night and stayed at the Novotel.. It was lovely!

We also went up to the restaraunt at the top of Mount Cootha for dinner.. Excellent food, awesome views and it was great to have a nice romantic meal with Hubby...

I recommend it to everyone.. :-)

I have found myself with a few days off befor starting my new job! This is great as I have lots of odd jobs to do..

I went this morning and booked the car in for a service, the scooter in for a service, the car into Hyundai to finally have the air conditioning compressor replaced and still had time to have lunch with Dad and Sis..

Tomorrow is giving dad a haircut and then horse riding with Sis and the rest of the week will hopefully be pretty peaceful!!

Peaceful.. Not likely to happen.. :-)

Happy Birthday to You!!!

It's Hubby's first birthday as a Hubby!!! How exciting!!! He scored himself a great pressie, Mum put in some money and I put in the rest to get him the MP3 player he's been wanting for a while now....

Happy birthday Hubby!!! I love you!!!

What Football???

I'm not a follower of football, round or funny shaped balls, so it was with some trepidation that I found myself at the local pub with a friend of mine watching the State of Origin.. She happens to be a Queensland supporter, and as it's State of Origin, I'm a cockroach through and through..

My prediction was that QLD would take out the second game of the series and make it one all.. And they did.... Queensland didn't only win.. No no.. Winning wouldn't be good enough would it??? No, they had to wipe the floor with us... 30 points to 6, and we only got the 6 points because the Queenslanders felt sorry for us and let us get a try through...

Anyway... To all of your Queensland supporters.. We'll see you in three weeks back at the football ground!!!! Then we'll talk about who is the loser... GO NSW!!!!

And just in case those people in maroon happen to win...... GO QLD!!!!

Something new!!!

As some of you know, I have recently been looking for a new direction in my work..

Well, I have been offered a position with a mortgage company based jut a few clicks from home. I'll be administering construction loans.. The job sounds very interesting and challenging, and I can't wait to get into it.

I've had a great couple of years working with TMS, and I'm going to miss working with everyone, but hopefully I'll get to see them all socially more than I have been. :-)

I'm so excited!!!!

Birthday Boy!!

It's Hubby's birthday next week and I have no idea what to get him.. I got him a little something a couple of months ago, but the things he wants are SO expensive, especially as we have our first ever wedding anniversary two days later...

Am heading over to the local shopping centre tonight to see if there is anything he might like.....

Suggestions????

Garden Now Growing...

Last weekend hubby and I got into the garden.. We weeded, we mulched, and we planted..

I must admit it does look much better! I'll have to take some pictures and post them here so you can see!!

There are groundcovers, and a couple of climbers. I even planted the freebie plants I got from Energex, so hopefully soon we'll have a lush green and weed free garden..

Speaking of Cats...

As mentioned previously, Bella is a little silly.. Or maybe she is so smart she acts silly so we don't expect too much from her.. Anyway.. This is a favorite position for her to be in. The laundry gets lots of sunshine in the morning and little miss Bella likes to sit somewhere warm..

Mental note to self... Always make sure there isn't a pussy in the washing machine before turning it on..

Bella Boo.. Silly pussy cat...

I just caught Bella again with a stuffed snake toy. She nicked it out of my scrapping room.. It was sitting on my desk.. She's been stealing it on a regular basis for a while now, so I decided to give it to her..

For those of you who don't know, Bella is a Siamese, and true to form, she's one of those really elegant cats who "don't" play (at least she doesn't let you catch her).. Bella's only problem is that she seems to be a little dopey.. She throws this snake around for hours, tossing it into the air and swiping at it with her paw then dragging it around with her as he moves from room to room.. It's actually quite a funny thing to watch, especially when she realises you've seen her and she sits on top of the snake trying to hide the fact that she has been playing..

I hope she never meets a real snake.. She wouldn't know what to do with herself when she realises that real snakes aren't purple and yellow, and real snakes actually move on their own.. Then again, we live in suburbia and she only goes outside under strict parental supervision.. The chances of her meeting a real snake are slim to nil...

Just when I thought it was over...

I get sick again..

I had tonsillitis a couple of weeks ago, and lucky me.. Got a cold at the same time..

Anyway.. The cold/flu thingee has made a comeback... Am feeling a little better today than I did yesterday but I'll be spending tomorrow in bed for sure... :-)

Poor Hubby has been playing SWAT on the computer and trying to avoid me.. I'm not too sure whether it's because he doesn't want what I have, or whether it's because I am a crap patient and a grumpy bugger when I'm sick.. Possibly a mixture of both..

Not much happening in our lives really.. There is some more gardening I want to get done and I have the plants sitting on the back patio waiting for me, but I'm going to wait until I'm feeling a little less dead before venturing into the great wilderness we are calling a garden..
